Earlier this week I pounced on the news that Nissan may be working on a sports car version of the Nissan LEAF. I speculated that it could be based on the 370Z platform, as the current LEAF will be based on a modified Versa platform. Reader green racer posted a link in the comments section to an electric sports car Renault is working on, called the DeZir. Could this be the basis for a Nissan LEAF sports car instead? I’ve never much cared...

The Nissan LEAF is coming, and it could be the catalyst that makes electric cars more than just a pipe dream. Nissan says orders have already exceeded expectations and the hype around this little electric car is poppin’ (to use the vernacular of our times). Reality may dampen some expectations though; the 100 mile range is under the best of conditions, and I doubt the LEAF will be a very fun car to drive in terms of speed and handling…...

It has actually been around for quite some time. In fact, according to a few new rumors and The Telegraph , the first electric car idea came from way back in 1884 with a vehicle created by British inventor Thomas Parker. The electric car, in theory, is one of the greatest...

> With the World Cup nearing a climactic showdown and Tour de France in full swing, our television screens feature a decidedly international flair. Announcers with accents tell us about competitors whose names most of us can’t pronounce amidst ads for products we’ve never seen outside duty-free shops. That global feeling is also overtaking U.S. roadways, with captive imports and minicars increasingly making the local Walmart parking lot...

Nissan 370Z GT Coupe is going to be one of the most interesting cars in the UK, because of its incredibly low price. Nissan’s perferences are superb – they allow drivers to deposit only 25 per cent and spread the cost of 370Z over the next 2 years with the option to pay off  the  Read More →

It’s Canada Day, and in honor of the national holiday of our neighbor to the north we’re bringing you a gallery of Canadian-only cars. We all know about the tragic story of the Bricklin SV-1, a failure of a car largely paid for by taxpayers of New Brunswick . The story of how Buick’s LaCrosse had to change its name before crossing the border always makes us chuckle, too. Turns out, the word “lacrosse” has a prurient...
