  NASA is working on its Taurus 2 rocket, designed to send materials to the International Space Station. Their contractors are having trouble with the design, so to fix the problem, theyve purchased a number of Soviet era NK-33 engines. Aerojet, the Sacramento based company in charge of building the engines for the Taurus 2, made a similar purchase in the 1990s and are relying on the Soviet era equipment due to its superb quality and durability.   A major US rocket manufacturer says it may buy Russian engines for the launch vehicle Taurus Two being developed for NASA. Aerojet is in talks over the possible deal after successful lengthy tests of the Russian NK-33 engine. The company bought the same model in the mid-90's and this time might need up to 70. The rocket engine is produced in Central Russia's Samara region and was first developed 40 years ago.

  MTT Turbine Superbike (often styled SUPERBIKE, also known as Y2K Turbine SUPERBIKE, is the world's second wheel-driven motorcycle powered by a turbine engine, created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc. Reports of the MTT Turbine SUPERBIKE appeared as early as 1999 in a May issue of Cafe Racer magazine, but the production model was introduced in 2000. Powered by a Rolls-Royce-Allison Model 250 turboshaft engine, producing 238 kW (320 hp), the motorcycle has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (370 km/h), with a price tag of US$150000 (US$185000 in 2004).[citation needed] It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most powerful production motorcycle" and the "Most expensive production motorcycle." Unlike some earlier jet-powered motorcycles, where a massive jet engine provided thrust to push the motorcycle, the turboshaft engine on this model drives the rear wheel via a two-speed gearbox. Riding the motorcycle is said to be somewhat tricky due to the inherent throttle lag in the engine, acceleration when letting off the throttle, and extreme length. The engines used in the motorcycles are second-hand, having reached the FAA running time limit, after which they have to be rebuilt, regardless of condition. MTT can buy these engines for a much lower price than new engines and use them on surface vehicles without requiring FAA approval.   These are the engines I will be taking to the May 2010 Jacktown swap meet. I brought seven engines total, the six in the video and another small clinton that was not. I was able to sell the Maytag 72 and the 92, as well as the REO and the complete Clinton 700 series. I also brought up a 90% complete Bolens 850 mower deck, that sold. However the sclae did not sell, I may try ebay on that one.
