2011 BMW 335is Coupe – First Drive Review

January 22nd, 2010 admin

Minding the gap—between the 335i and the M3, that is. To fill the gap in the 3-series lineup between the 300-hp 335i and the 414-hp M3, BMW is introducing the new 335is coupe and convertible. We were unaware that said gap needed to be filled, but we’re told that the 335i is seen in the U.S. as just an ordinary 3-series, and, as such, there’s room for something more exotic than a 335i but less outlandish

One of our favorite cars just got a little bit better. For the 2009 model year, the BMW 3-series sedan and wagon received a minor face lift that included new front and rear lights and a modified trunklid, grille, and front bumper. Inside, the car received the latest version of iDrive and some improved materials. These changes have now been carried...

2011 BMW M3 Frozen Gray Coupe – Official Photos and Info
The U.S.-only commemorative M3 piles on special paint, loads of options, and a driving school. As the 25th anniversary of the M3 approaches—the car was introduced in Europe in 1986, but didn’t make its way to the U.S. until the middle of the following year—BMW is launching a limited-run version of the current coupe. Teased earlier this week,...

2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe – First Drive Review
CTS goodness in a higher-concentration formula. While most Cadillac vehicles still have a way to go to satisfy as drivers’ machines, the second-generation CTS has appeared on our last three 10Best lists; in awarding its 2010 trophy, we called it “maybe the best American car ever made.” High praise, but its combination of unapologetically...

Why upgrade? The 7-series is once again packing a six-cylinder engine, and it’s all you really need. For the first time since 1992, a six-cylinder engine is available in the U.S.-market BMW 7-series , under the hood of the 2011 740i and long-wheelbase 740Li. But unlike before, this one’s twin-turbocharged and direct injected, technologies...
Review: 2011 Infiniti M37
With the 2006-2010 Infiniti M, a highly competent luxury performance sedan was hidden beneath utterly forgettable sheetmetal. Before my father bought his 2008 Cadillac CTS I suggested that he also check out the M. One glance at the car’s exterior was all he needed to summarily reject it. Well, for 2011 Infiniti has totally redesigned  Read More →

2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid – First Drive Review
Honda’s sporty hybrid is better than expected. Still, who’s going to buy it? It’s tempting to think of the CR-Z hybrid as the second coming of the CRX, Honda’s light, tossable mid-1980s funster, what with the two cars’ stubby rear ends, two-seat layouts, and frugal intentions. On the CR-Z launch, in fact, Honda plopped us down in a cherry...

A dual-clutch automated manual brings virility to BMW’s potent 135i. BMW’s 135i coupe and convertible may not look much different for 2011, but with a new turbocharged inline-six engine and a newly available dual-clutch automated manual transmission, the 2011 135i certainly feels different. We came to this conclusion following our first opportunity...
